It’s a traditional Mongolian cuisine that dates back many centuries ago and is still cooked nowadays. Easy to make so here’s my recipe,
Ingredients
Dough:
This makes 3 dough sheets
250 grams flour
210 ml water
1 tsp salt
Soup:
For one medium-sized bowl
100 grams mutton or beef hot pot style
2 cloves of garlic
1 stem of green onions
250 ml water
2 tsp salt
Black pepper
How to make
· – To make the dough mix the salt, flour, and water and knead until it’s smooth then cover with a towel to rest while you prepare the soup base.
· – Thinly slice the green onion and garlic.
· – In a bowl, put the sliced garlic and onion with the beef or mutton and season with salt and pepper.
· – Roll out the dough to 2mm thickness and cover the bowl.
· – Stick the excess dough on the edges of the bowl with no air pockets.
· – In a steamer with simmering water put the bowl in and cover to cook for 30-40 minutes depending on the bowl size.
· – To make it fancy, add sliced green onions on top and it is ready to serve
