The Prime Minister of Mongolia meets with the premier of the State Council of China.

On February 14, 2025, Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai met with Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, in Harbin, China.

Both heads of government expressed satisfaction with the significant progress and tangible achievements in Mongolia-China relations and cooperation since their last meeting in Shanghai in November 2024.

In particular, they highlighted the ongoing development of the Gashuunsukhait-Gantsmod cross-border railway project, one of Mongolia’s 14 major initiatives. The recent signing of the "Intergovernmental Agreement on Cross-Border Railway Connectivity, Coal Trade, and the Expansion of Tavan Tolgoi’s Coal Mining Capacity" was seen as a key step in advancing bilateral cooperation to new heights.

The two leaders agreed to intensify cooperation on maintaining high-level visits, aligning development strategies, diversifying trade structures, improving border port connections, strengthening the legal framework for bilateral relations, and expanding collaboration in environmental protection, tourism, manufacturing, renewable energy, as well as green and digital economies. They also agreed to further strengthen trilateral cooperation between Mongolia, China, and Russia.

This meeting marked the fifth encounter between the Prime Minister of Mongolia and the Premier of the State Council of China. Both sides expressed mutual appreciation for the successful implementation of projects and initiatives discussed in previous meetings. Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene also congratulated the People's Republic of China on successfully hosting the 9th Asian Winter Games.
