Mongolia provides 360 panoramic photos to google maps

This year, Mongolia has uploaded 360 panorama images of roads, roadside service facilities, historical landmarks, toll stations, and rest stops to the Google Maps system. This initiative aims to provide accurate and real-time information to drivers, passengers, and travelers, while also introducing the country globally through the Google Maps system.

Mongolia has established transport agreements with 21 countries for road transport, 47 countries for air transport, and 30 countries for railway transport. Additionally, goods are transported through 39 border checkpoints across the country.

Last year, the Ministry of Road and Transport of Mongolia launched its digital platform, declaring itself a “digital ministry.” On December 12, 2024, Head of the Information Technology Department of the Ministry Dr. D.Gerelnyam underscored, “We have developed an open data platform for the sector as part of becoming a transparent ministry. Through the eRTHub.mn portal, 33 integrated systems are now available to citizens, with over 4,500 users accessing information this year.

By digitizing 94 services, we have reduced travel distances by approximately 70,000 kilometers, saving both time and costs. One notable achievement is the implementation of the Autobox app and state service kiosks, which allow users to transfer vehicle ownership digitally using electronic signature technology, eliminating the need for physical presence. The Ministry has also transitioned to paperless operations, digitizing document management and reducing postal and administrative costs. These measures have contributed to reducing traffic congestion and improving overall efficiency in transport operations.”

Moreover, CEO of “Interactive” LLC B.Uuganbayar highlighted, “At a time when the world is undergoing a digital transformation, it is important for our country to make government services accessible for citizens, to make information more transparent, and to improve digital connectivity between organizations. To achieve this, every organization should have its own digital strategy, planning, and methodology.  By doing so, we can develop data-driven innovation capabilities.”
