A meeting was held with Elaine Yip, the Manager of National and Regional Sales at United Airlines, and other representatives to exchange ideas about potential cooperation. United Airlines, a leading U.S. carrier, expressed interest in the Mongolian tourism market and shared that they have begun initial steps to operate flights through Japan.
Although United Airlines has not previously operated direct flights to Mongolia, they believe there is an opportunity to expand the market through connecting flights. Representatives from the Tourism and Travel Professionals Association of Mongolia (TTPA) welcomed this initiative and expressed their willingness to promote United Airlines flights in collaboration with Mongolian tourism organizations and tour operators.
As United Airlines is a well-established brand with a strong reputation in the U.S. market, the parties discussed how to use this advantage to increase tourist flow to Mongolia. It was also emphasized that since the tourism sector in Mongolia has a high seasonal dependency, offering special package tours during the off-peak season could be an effective strategy.
To make the collaboration more effective, United Airlines' marketing team announced their willingness to provide necessary materials and information to promote the flights.
At the meeting, both sides agreed on the basic directions for future cooperation and expressed their readiness to develop a unified marketing strategy.
The meeting was attended by B. Zolbadral, Chairman of the Board, and E. Tengisbold, Vice President, representing the Tourism and Travel Professionals Association of Mongolia.
